The Postman rung twice!
I got a bunch of mail yesterday. My first pair of Dansko shoes arrived! They're great. This knit blogger kept showing off her collection and virutally enabled me into buying these:
from ebay. I have trouble finding shoes that are comfy and cool, these are great! Too bad there's so much snow out there--it'll be a while before they go outside.
Then my Elann order arrived. Highland Peruvian wool in Allspice to make Xander's Classic Aran, and some in black to make myself a felted vest for under my leather jacket (I hope Craig's works!). I also bough some Sock it To Me Colori in Highland Heather because I loved the colour.
With this lovely package was another one! My yarn for Rogue arrived--two weeks from Australia--not bad. 19 luscious balls of Jo Sharp Silkwater Aran in Beach--it's soft and gorgeous and will make a perfect Rogue. I started a swatch before bed last night (well in bed--instead of reading). I haven't found the right needle size yet.
All this yarn made me want to clear out the knitting basket, so I finished this:
and these:
I love my new mittens. My hands were nice and warm today. Now to resist swatching for Rogue. I'll make myself a deal--work until lunch and then I can do a swatch--then back to work!

Lots of nice yarn. I love mail days like that. I like the Snowflake yarn scarf you made. Gave me some ideas for a little scarf for Erika. I've made her 3 sweaters from Snowflake yarn. They're nice but very "floppy". She's pretty much outgrown all of them now - and I'm lying - I actually made 4 different sweaters and a blanket.
I like your deal about the thesis and swatching. Go for it.

You won't be sorry about the Dansko's. Most comfy shoes around!

SO GLAD when I can help to enable anyone's shoe buying habit! Danskos rock, and you bought super cool ones. Yay!!
I'm looking forward to seeing how the silkroad aran swatches for your Rogue -- it's such a yummy yarn.
And love the pinkie scarf -- very happy.

Loved the "watermelon" scarf. Isn't that a great little pattern?
I've just about concluded that Silkroad Aran is a great choice - for my second Rogue. Since my first will be indestructible, my second one will be made from some kind of luscious something, so I'll be interested to see how your swatching advertures come out.

I'm also looking forward to seeing how the Jo Sharp swatches up--although I'm afraid to look since I know I'll be tempted.

Hold on a minute here. When did you order these shoes? I don't recall. And why didn't you tell me? And are you trying to hide this purchase from me? And why are you trying to hide this purchase from me?

I'm hardly hiding things if I post them on my blog...

I'm a Dansko wearer too, especially if I'm willing to be patient with ebay. My most recent purchase was a pair of clogs so I could show off my hand-knit socks properly. Great colors in the diagonal scarf.
