Where's this yarn?
I want to make this:

It's the Mandarin Faux Cardigan from the IK Spring issue. I'm not a slave for the called-for yarn (Trendsetter Oceano), but I would like to see some swatches of it, or even a live ball so I can decide to use it or look for substitutions.
I googled and can't find it anywhere. Anyone seen it?
And I think I'm out of my slump. Yesterday I started these for me:

The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill Merino Sock in Northern Lights. Pretty and squooshy yarn. Yummy.
I also made some more progress on the Classic Aran while we watched a bunch of episodes of The Family Guy last night. This was one of Craig's birthday presents. I love this show. My favourite line last night was when Peter is riding an elephant and says: "Look two symbols of the Republican Party: An Elephant and a Big Fat White Guy who's afraid of change". Hee hee hee. Oh ya, here's the sweater:

Xander and I are having an "at home" day today. We're off to his new school for a Jr. Kindergarten orientation. My little baby goes to school in September. Sigh.

I've been looking for this yarn, the Bergamo for Salt Peanuts, and the cotton/linen blend for the the Ballet Neck Twinset, and have struck out on all three! Either the yarns are seriously hard to find or unpopular...

Oh, I love that sweater too! The only link I could find for it is this shop, which seems to carry the yarn. (But, no pictures or prices)

Sadly, this is a "me too" post - Google gave me nothing when I looked for the Oceano.

This has nothing to do with your current yarn woes, as I can't find any appropriate yarn for Salt Peanuts either (!) but my favorite line from "The Family Guy" has to be -
Peter: "Hey, Brian. I think my Alphabits are talking to me. They're saying, 'Oooooo.'"
Brian: "Those are Cheerios, you idiot!"

Been meaning to comment on the classic aran - it is so lovely and I can picture the photos from the book which I have to get through inter-library loan. Alas, my two boys have outgrown this delightful stage. I remember thinking the body looked short, so I can see adding some length as you are. It looks great!

Don't know anything about this company, but look at www.theknittingroom.net for your yarn.

Oooh, I like that Mandarin sweater too! I hope you find yarn for it so you can make it and I can watch! :)

...or discontinued? That would be a major IK faux pas, wouldn't it? (wow, I made a pun without even trying.) I love the Mandarin as well, but I'm with you--I would want to find a dyed yarn that would "splotch" like that. And a &%!@$#@ better picture of the cardigan, in better light so I can actually SEE it.

Is is not the most frustrating thing EVER to want to make a sweater out of one of the magazines and not be able to find the yarn? And it always seems like the yarn they use would be about the only one you could use for that particular sweater. This is a MAJOR issue of mine - why can't they use yarn that's readily available? C'mon - make it easy for us!

I just found out that Oceano has been discontinued. It's beautiful.
