Grace Kelly?
When the latest Knitty came out I immediately zeroed in on Grace. I love the look of this tee. But I despise mohair so I was looking for a good alternative. I think I found it in Needful Yarns Kelly. Here's my progress on the back with colour 50 a stripey blue.
The yarn has long stripe repeats that don't quite varigate (but aren't as long as Kureyon). I think the interesting construction of Grace will really show off this yarn. It's a good time to start too. The weather has finally changed--it was actually hot yesterday.
I also wound the balls and started my Charlotte Poncho but I think I made a mistake in my design, so I need to work that out. That has to be done later because Friday is my self-imposed deadline for my Concluding Chapter. I gotta get out of the house to avoid temptation.

HA--our taste is so similar in the patterns we like. I am also planning on making Grace using totally different yarn than mohair (could you imagine wearing mohair on a 90 degree day??), probably some Colinette Wigwam, slightly different gauge but I would make the smallest size to make up for that. I can't wait to see how yours turns out! I'm finishing up my second sleeve on the Mandarin Cardi (and working on a dress for my daughter, which is why it's taking so long. oh--that and the fact that I'm sure I knit much slower than you do!!)

Oooh! What a fantastic idea! I have 10 balls of Kelly right now to ponder over. I'll be interested to see what the front looks like with the strips... should be pretty!

I've been in love with that yarn ever since I saw it in the yarn shop and I've been in love with that pattern since I saw it on Knitty. What a perfect combination! I'm going to have to pay a visit to the yarn shop soon.

Grace will look great in stripes, with its diagonal shoulder bits. Of course, the name combination of Grace and Kelly is too good to pass up.
