hee. You better. She'll always get you in the end.

This just further supports my theory that the purpose of swatching should not be to hit some magic number in the pattern but to determine how to knit up a suitable fabric.

It appears you have lived in denial about this problem for a while, though.

well, yes, but how do you fix row gauge if the stitch gauge is correct? I don't get that part. Sigh.

And this is why I am using the new lazy method of gauge-y-ness: make a swatch in preferred style and then find a pattern using the yarn (which mostly limits my yarns at the moment and means I only have one nearly whole sweater back to rip out). Stupid row gauge.

Ruh-roh. You have to admit, though, the Mistress makes a really lovely whip, doesn't she?

Yes, please explain how to change row gauge without affecting stitch gauge. My method is to A, figure out what size needles I need to get the stitch gauge, and 2, rewrite the pattern to accommodate my row gauge. Help!

I'm so not ready to face this foe. I'm only getting the tight enough stitch gauge. Sometimes I hide in the blanket-shawl-scarf closet to feed my denial.
Please explain how you can have row AND stitch gauge, and make a garment too.

"new" implies there was a previous dominatrix?

it's still a pretty color

Indeed. You are her bitch.

Actually, we all are.
