My yarn isn't here. There are only four more sleeps until Rhinebeck. I'm getting worried. Right now I have a one-armed, no neck sweater.
Do I start calling the local shops to see if they have my yarn (which will ensure that I'm driving to hell's half acre for what I need tomorrow, only to return home to find my yarn in the mailbox) or do I just go through the cedar chest looking for another good sweater to bring?
I have been consoling myself with Lizard Ridge squares, I'm working on number 15, though I'm planning to reknit the one on the bottom left.
I'm learning to embrace the randomness of kureyon, but it doesn't always work.

Just pull out the sleeveless shoulder seam and fold the edges down. And maybe replace the stitch holder with something flashier. The one sleeve off the shoulder look is totally in this year, dude. You'll be the most fashionable knitter at Rhinebeck. If, perhaps, a slightly chilly one...

Breathe. There is no point spending hours on the phone and in the car if the yarn is already on it's way to you. You will make. Worst case senario-- you finish it *at* Rhinebeck.

Steph, I have an *awful* lot of KSH in that colour. If you email me the dyelot I can check when I get home tonight and can try to drop it to you or meet you halfway. I work in Scarborough, but have a car. My work email is lbernard dot pathways at jeantweed dot com. Hope I can help. The Harlot doesn't call me the Queen of Crack Silk Haze for nuthin'!

Don't let the sweater see you sweat.

Well, *points at previous comments* looks like you have a few options here! :)
Lizard Ridge is looking great! I hope I can work on that project soon too.
Good luck on the yarn hunt but don't overtax yourself trying to get it. :)
Cheers!

People will understand if you wear a one armed sweater. First, fall temperatures are changeable. You never know if it will be warm or cold. One sleeve shows flexibility. Second, there will be LOTS of other knitters there who left their incomplete project at home. You are a brave, self actualized knitter. You are willing to show off what you have completed, with pride. Third, the layered look is in. Just put a jacket of some sort over the sweater and no one will know that there is only one sleeve!!

Let it go. Breathe in pink, breathe out blue (or is it the other way around?). Wear another sweater that you knit and save this one for *next* year. No need to raise your blood pressure over a sweater.
otoh, you COULD remove the existing arm, replace the stitch holder with a strand of colorful yarn, and wear it as a vest...

Tell me about it. Sometimes you want those clearly defined waves, and Kureyon doesn't put out. I've been snipping the yarn and winding it up until I get to the next color so my waves, or ridges I guess they are, stand out more.
Good luck receiving that yarn!! I really hope it comes.

Forget the Cactus Flower. You must have enough Lizard squares by now to sew them together into a full-length gown -- with two sleeves.

and you know, that if you do go driving to hell and back finding another ball or 2 of hte[s]crack[/s] kid silk, it will arrive in the post while you're out. murphy says so

How frustrating! I had a similar day, too. My 6 yo daughter doesn't say I hate you (usually) she just gives me the look that says you are just a mean mommy and you have hurt my feelings so permanently even though all you did was tell me to stop arguing and that you would not change your mind and that I could not have what i wanted! Here's to a better day tomorrow!

Those squares are so beautiful, my knees are going weak.
Oh, and as for Rhinebeck, my Mom once wore a sweater from Kohls to a wool festival and got tons of compliments. 'Til I ratted her out ;-)
