Birthdays are fun! I wanted to say thanks to my pals who sent me lovely birthday goodies.
Earrings from Rosemary (did you see the matching shawl pins?)
I normally don't wear fancy earrings (I have this *thing* about my ears) but I love the look of these.
Super fab mug from Amy. Jennie the Potter made this one. Go see her shop, the pottery is beautiful.
And yarnie goodies from my pal Keri. Nothing says birthday like Kid Silk Haze and a Rowan Magazine.
Thanks for all the great gifts!
I also bought myself a present:
It's an Electra Townie 7d. I bought a white back rack too (and will get some fenders later--maybe Hawaiian style!). I tried a few Trek bikes and they were too short--my butt was hanging off the seat. The Townie felt just right. It was like I was a kid again on a big cruiser, but with an easier ride. I had to order the 7 speed (the 3 had coaster brakes which I didn't really love and I wanted a few more speeds). Hopefully I'll have it soon.

Happy Birthday! That bike is very cool. And can't wait to see what that kidsilk haze turns into.

I am so jealous of that bike! Very nice choice. And those Hawaiian fenders are very funky too. I'm sure you'll have fun with your bike once it arrives. Be sure to post lots of pictures once you get it!
Oh, and Happy Birthday!

What beautiful gifts from friends with good taste! I love the ear-rings! When I got my hair cut short it took me a while to wear any kind of dangling ear-ring but now I like it. I've been drooling over these cruiser bikes recently too...very cool!

Happy Birthday.
I love that bike. I have been looking for one similar. I prefer purple and would like fenders. I also need a basket for the lap dog to ride in. I've been trying to convince this guy he's a dog and should be on the ground but....
I've knitted him sweaters so I guess I'll have to let him ride in style to show them off.

Happy Birthday! I, too, have a thing about my ears, but with artisans like Rosemary and a bunch of others who create such lovely, simple earrings, I've kind of fallen into the jewelry box ears first... :-)
