"I had no idea this game was so boring"
-Homer Simpson, on the wagon
That's pretty much how I feel about baseball--it's only interesting with beer. Or, as I found out last night, knitting (and beer).
Me, Mom and the kids took in the Blue Jays' game last night and had a great time. Mom got the experience of the Skydome (I know, Roger's Centre, whatever):
The kids ate and cheered:
And I got to knit (and drink beer):
Oh, and the Jay's won.

Heh. The one baseball game I've ever been to was at the Skydome, on a class trip to Toronto. It would've been a lot more fun if I'd been a knitter then. :)

I have fallen asleep at every game I've ever gone to.
This could be because I went to games with my ex-husband, but I think the boringness of baseball also had something to do with it. That, and the fact that I could not drink beer around him, and I wasn't knitting.
No freaking wonder I fell asleep, eh? :-)

Look at that gorgeous sock! (By the way, I brought my Charade socks-in-progress today to show you and then completely forgot they were in my bag! Curses!)

I'm pretty sure not even knitting could get me to sit through an entire ball game, at least not with the kids there. The last time we went to a game, we drove 20 minutes to the trolley station, took a 45 minute trolley ride, walked half a mile, paid $9 each for bean burritos, and spent half an hour trying to find out seats. Our younger son promptly fell asleep in my lap, and our older son lasted almost an inning before he announced he was bored and could we go yet?

Hi,
I must agree that baseball is B-O-R-I-N-G. My H finally stopped dragging me along. I am happy to do anything (clean??) instead of suffer the torture of staying 9 innings...

I am a pretty big sports fan but baseball bores me to tears. Knitting really does help, much to the dismay of my husband who lectures me about the dangers of balls being hit into the stands and fans who aren't paying attention.
