I found the both the camera cable, and the time so I can post a mini tour of the place. I'm not showing you all the rooms right now because some of my super-fab friends have arranged a painting party and are coming on the weekend to help us out. Right now we have a big beige house and we need some colour (but not the honeydew green (think of the melon) I bought a small can of for the kitchen--it glows).
Here's the exterior:

And the entrance way/hall:

The living room and dining room (the fireplace doesn't work--but it looks cool):

Our room--we have the second floor balcony.

And our view (look closely between the houses to see Lake Ontario):

And the attic which will house the tv, computer, and the yarn. It's as big as our living/dining room of our old place so you can see we've gained a tonne of space.

Finally, our tiny Toronto backyard--which holds a deck and garage. It suits us fine (no grass to mow) and Happy Craig has somewhere to play with his tools.

Still no knitting right now. I'm pooped. I figure it'll take a month for things to get back into the regular groove. But I see some great times ahead. This is the best move I've made and I'd be partying, if I wasn't exhausted.
It looks wonderful. That fireplace looks alot like the old electric one in our house (probably from the 30's, I'd say) -- a similar greenish tile backing. Is yours electric or 'real'?
I'm sure the house will fit you really well. Have fun setting it up!

ahh you have a perfect set-up. a fireplace (who cares if it doesn't work, those you have to keep clean), a yard with no grass (again, brilliant), a room for your yarn, a balcony with a view. excellent!

Love your new digs! Last year we moved into an older home and remodeled. Blarf. You have my sympathies, and a martini when you need it.

Looks nice. And don't painting parties involve a 24 or two and lots of pizza? Or was that the moving itself...
anyway, buy beer. You have a lot of unpacking and painting to do. You'll need it.

What fun. My in-laws have a fireplace that would work, but they don't use because in the 70 years the house has been in existence it's never been used (there's a fireplace in the basement we actually use). But they put candles in the fireplace on different levels, on neat bricks. IT looks really cool.

It looks great. More space is usually a good thing. I love the baloons, they really add to the decor :)

What a gorgeous archway -- such a wonderful curve and great pillars! Oh, it's so much work to move, but so worth it. Best of luck for a speedy settling-in.

Great attic space! I can picture a bench under the window and a basket of WIPs right next to it...

mmm. . . beautiful architectural details. In my first house, I had a non-working, used-to-be-gas fireplace. I loved it - in particular, the way you can prop things on the mantel, and there's no way they're going to get ash-dusty. I did the candle thing too.

Lovely new digs, congrats and enjoy!! Especially love that balcony off your bedroom!

Attic has no 'wip' no fibre...just books. And yes window will have nice built-in bench with drawers etc. Knitting is not allowed in the attic...it is a place of solitude and reflection and serenity...there will be no swearing and ripping and cursing ballwinders and swifts...I FORBID IT!

Congrats, Steph! I *love* that you have a balcony off your bedroom -- and a lake view, can't beat that! :)
