It's going to be like this for a while

We're In!

Keys

We closed the deal on our house last Thursday.  It was a bit of a bumpy end (with some unresolved issue) but we're in and we're happy.

I haven't blogged because we've been busy.

Wall prep sucks (that's plaster dust in the photo).  The end result is amazing, but all that hole-filling, sanding and priming is not so fun.  We have a bit of built-in bookshelf work to do too (we got a bit impulsive!).

This week my fab Mom and super-painter Uncle Ken have been painting our main room.  It's their house warming gift to us and it is much appreciated.  My next-door neighbour Keri has also been helping with painting and wall prep--she taught us some new techniques and totally rocks.  We hope to paint the entire house over the next months and this gets us a good start.  It also rids us of ugly green walls.

We're moving in officially December 21.  I'm trying not to think too much about it because I have a LOT of packing still to do.  It's more fun to play in my new house and than pack in the old spot.

Ah plaster dust. The ever permiating skin drying nose clogging plaster dust. It is awful stuff, but it is so worth it in the end. It will look great Steph! Congratulations!

Mazel Tov!! What a great Christmas you'll have in your new home.

Boy, you guys don't mess around! It'll be fun to watch this all come together. Congrats again on your new home!

Oh, my heartiest congratulations to you! I am so excited for you. A new home is fun (nerve racking but fun nonetheless) and a FIRST home is just breathtaking! If you are anything like me, you will get absolutely NO SLEEP on your first night in the house. When we bought our first house and went to sleep that first night, we were so exhausted. HOWEVER, I stayed up and just kept thinking "this is my house. I OWN this house. I really, really have my OWN house!"

Yeah for you all!

Doing a Snoopy for you guys!

Congratulations! I wish we had a built in bookshelf, that would be so cool. I remember how great it felt to close on our house. Enjoy!

Congratulations, everybody!

Congratulations!

But, dude. There has been entirely too much painting of walls in your life this year. I seem to remember some painting just a few months back....
