Poppy is done! I finished it on December 31, laid it by the fireplace and then forgot about it until today (blame hangover and unpacking and general holiday laziness).
The last bit of crochet finishing was a bit of a challenge, but with Mom's help and some wine, my tussles with the crochet hook are now forgotten.
Playing with the colour and not blindly following the pattern was fun. I did end up with more stripes at the ends (or the back where the seam is) than the front, and my need to control personality took a bit to get around that, but in the end I'm really pleased with the result.
A perfect fit--I knit a size smaller than I would normally, so I'm learning what fits! Now to find a deep v-neck shirt for underneath--I love Silk Garden, but not against my skin. A great pattern for great yarn (though Noro should reinstate these colours--they are gorgeous).
Beautiful! And fits you wonderfully.
That sweater is totally on my to-knit list.

Great. I'm glad I hate those colours otherwise I'd have to go find me some of that yarn and that pattern :-)
What is it about Silk Garden that you don't like against the skin? I'm in the market for sweaters to wear as tops. I wear Manos against my skin so I might be less sensitive than others.

Looks great -- far better on you than the model in the book! Seriously, I hadn't thought that much of the sweater, but I was wrong.

Beautiful!!
I think it now may be on my to-do list too.

It's GREAT!!!!
ROFL re the striping. I finally started knitting it in the dark at the movies to let go a bit of my need to control and plan ;)

I loved that sweater when I saw it on the cover and Knitty and the City's version as well. Yours looks great. I really like the colors you chose too. That is still high on my list of sweaters to make. I bought Yarnplay pretty much for that pattern alone.

It's fabulous! the fit looks perfect and the colors are just soooo, Poppy!

That is gorgeous!
And it's giving me ideas - I received a few balls of Silk Garden for a Christmas present and this could just be the thing to use them for.

Nice sweater- great fit! I found some great low-v-necked cotton and lycra shirts at Reitman's (in Kingston, but check out a Reitman's near you) Lots of nice colours, and 2 types of v neck. Now I have to go and finish MY sweaters!

I love it! I didn't think I was going to knit that, but now I might have to!

It looks fabulous on you! What a cool pattern. I love that colorway of Silk Garden, too; I used it for my clapotis and it's a great combination of colors.

Very nice job Steph! Like the colors and it fits you great.

That is stunning. I have seen others I didn't like, because they looked too big. You *will* learn to 'go with the Noro'. :)

LOVELY, just lovely. BTW, Target sells v neck undershirts that really aren't too bad and it would work underneath that I think.

Really great. It fits beautifully (hooray for such lessons) and I agree about the colours. Yum.
Old Navy has good (longer in the body) t-shirts at the moment. ry them.

Ka-yoot!
(Put some hair conditioner in the rinse water when you wash Poppy, it'll make the Silk Garden a bit more comfy.)

Wow, Poppy looks fantastic!! I love those colours too. Congrats on finishing such a beautiful sweater. It looks fantastic on you. I hope all is going well with your new house.

Wow...looks great!!

The secret with Silk Garden is that it can actually survive a trip through the washing machine. Unfortunately, I don't know (and would doubt) if the same is true for the Cash Iroha. It doesn't felt or change size but gets slightly fuzzy and incredibly soft. Seriously. Knit a swatch and throw it in the machine. You might change your mind about wearing Silk Garden against your skin entirely!

Pretty darn hot for a woman who moved house a week before Christmas. All that, and a gorgeous Poppy. As usual, you are my hero!
